Tell us about the door and where you are in Topeka - we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

How to Reach Us

Call us at 1-785-203-9721 and tell us what the door is doing, or not doing. We work out of 107 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66603, and that's also where you can drop by if you'd rather talk in person than over the phone.

A phone call gets you further than a form, because a garage door problem is rarely one thing. "It won't open" could be a broken spring, a burnt opener motor, a bent track, or a sensor knocked out of alignment, and each one needs a different part on the truck. If you can tell us the brand on the opener, roughly how old the door is, and whether it's a single or double door, we can usually quote a repair range before we even arrive.

What we can't do over the phone is give you a final number sight unseen. Spring size, track wear, and panel condition all change the price, and guessing at those over the phone does nobody any favors. We'll give you a close estimate on the call and confirm it once we've had eyes on the door.

What We Actually Do

We work on springs, openers, tracks, cables, rollers, and panels - the parts that fail on a garage door, not the whole door replacement business some companies push first. Broken torsion springs are the most common call we get, followed by openers that have simply worn out.

A lot of what we see traces back to the age of the housing stock here. Most homes across our service area were built between 1961 and 1990, with the bulk of that going up in the 1960s and '70s. That means original one-piece doors, older torsion hardware, and opener units that have long since been discontinued - parts that need to be matched rather than ordered off a shelf.

Topeka's winters matter too. Cold tightens cables, stiffens rollers, and makes a spring that's already near the end of its life more likely to snap on a January morning than a mild one in October. We stock for that pattern because we see it every year.

What we don't do: full home remodels, siding or trim work, or jobs where the door frame itself has rotted out past the point a new door will seat properly. If a door's beyond saving, we'll say so instead of selling you a repair that won't hold.

Where We Travel

Most of our calls come from inside a few miles of downtown - Central Topeka, North Topeka, Highland Park, East Topeka, and the Southwest Topeka pockets are all a short drive from our shop at 107 SW 6th Ave. We also go out to Tecumseh, about 6 miles out, and Silver Lake, around 10 miles northwest.

Farther out, we cover Meriden, Carbondale, and Rossville, each roughly 13 to 15 miles from the shop, and we'll make the drive to Lecompton, Perry, Maple Hill, and Overbrook as well, out to about 19 miles. Distance doesn't change how we price the repair itself, but it's worth mentioning when you call so we can plan the route for the day.

Across this whole area there are 3,558 households, with 2,382 of them owner-occupied houses - and a good share of those still carry the original hardware from when the neighborhood was built. If you're outside this radius, give us a call anyway; we'd rather tell you no than waste your afternoon.

Frequently asked questions

Can you give me a price over the phone?

We can give you a range based on what you describe - a broken spring, a dead opener, a bent track - but not a final number. Spring size, hardware age, and panel condition all affect cost, and those vary even between two houses built the same year. We confirm the exact price once we've looked at the door.

What information helps you quote faster?

The door's age or the home's build year, whether it's a single or double door, the opener brand if there is one, and a plain description of what's wrong - won't open, makes noise, opener runs but door doesn't move. That's usually enough for us to narrow down the likely cause before we arrive.

Do you work on older torsion spring setups?

Yes. A lot of homes in our service area were built in the 1960s and '70s, and the torsion hardware from that era is common on our calls. Some of it needs matching rather than a straight swap, which is part of why we prefer to see the door before quoting a final price.

Is there anything you don't repair?

We don't take on jobs where the door frame has rotted past the point a new door would seat correctly, and we don't do general home remodel or siding work. If a repair isn't the right call, we'll tell you that instead of billing for one.

Do you travel outside Topeka itself?

We go out to Tecumseh, Silver Lake, Meriden, Carbondale, Rossville, Lecompton, Perry, Maple Hill, and Overbrook, all within about 19 miles of our shop on SW 6th Ave. Call ahead so we can plan the drive into the day's route.
